What is our vision?

Vision: By 2010, MDCO will be a leader in critical care medicine

  • To provide products, with associated information and service, that enable caregivers to improve the way critical care patients are managed in major institutions

  • For our brands to lead market share and/or show medical and economic features and benefits that support the lead position in hospital institutions and markets where we have chosen to compete

  • To have at least six marketed and/or development compounds in our portfolio by 2012 and global net sales of $600-900 million

  • To be known for the value we provide to our customers

  • For our associates to be influential in the global hospital institutions and markets that we serve

  • To remain committed to our associates being significant owners – and working that way

  • To achieve sales and operating profit growth rates that exceed our peer group

Mission: How we plan to get there

Innovate. That is, deliver economically dominant products through superior understanding of market needs, developing better medical and economic solutions, and driving positive change by influencing user and payer behaviors.

Think/act globally. Focus on ~2,650 major hospitals that deliver 81% of the worldwide value in critical cardiovascular care.

Different by design. Structures, processes, knowledge and mindsets will support global innovation. We adopt the best of our industry, but do not necessarily follow the well-trodden path of others.

Execute flawlessly. We plan, get everyone behind the plan, execute as agreed, and learn deliberately from our results.

Go fast: right first time. We can only innovate if we move quickly and on target.
