Corporate Governance

Sound corporate governance principles are the foundation of investor confidence and trust. These principles are critical to maintaining The Medicines Company’s reputation as a company dedicated to excellence in both performance and integrity.

Our commitment to maintaining high business standards and effective governance is essential to all of The Medicines Company's stakeholders, including its employees, customers, partners, investors and the general public. Together, the Board members ensure that The Medicines Company remains a company of integrity and performance.

Code of Conduct & Ethics

In October of 2016, we revised our Global Code of Conduct and Ethics (the “Code”) primarily to reflect our new branding and to update certain section of the Code. More specifically, we: a) incorporated our current purpose statement; b) committed to providing humane care and treatment to research animals; c) revised contact information for reporting adverse events; and d) clarified roles throughout the document.

Courageous communication is a central tenet in applying the Code to our daily business activities. Every employee, officer and director has the responsibility to ask questions, seek guidance, express concerns, and report suspected violations regarding the Code. The Medicines Company maintains an anonymous and confidential 24-hour helpline, 888-475-8376, that provides individuals with the means to raise concerns over any Company activity that may conflict with the law, regulations, Company policies, or the Code.

California Declaration of Compliance
